LESSON 3; SIMPLE COMEDY




Because that little Baek is a ray of sunshine /creys/ I can’t resists him…. Well fck it all. And btw, I really do mean it when I said ‘simple comedy’. This poster tutorial is indeed a very simple, simple one. It took me only 30 minutes to do the poster, complete with the tutorial.



THINGS YOU NEED; {THE BAEK} {HIS KAI} {FLOWER} {AND SUNSHINE}






1) Today our poster size if going to be a little different. Open your GIMP and set the canvas to 450x500. Fill the background layer with soft purple [#efe3eb]. Drag all the images you need and resize them. We need Baek’s picture to be bigger than Kai’s. And then, start cropping the images.



2) As usual, to improve the quality of the pictures, we will need to adjust the curves. So go to ‘COLOR > CURVES’. Move the ‘Value’ curve randomly and then switch the channel to ‘Blue’ and move the curve up a little. We need it to be a little ‘bluish’. Just a little. And then go to ‘FILTERS > ENCHANCE > SHARPEN’ to sharpen the images.





3) Drag the resources into the canvas and resize them. Place the floral texture behind Kai and Baek, then set the mode to ‘Multiply’. Place the brush stroke over Baek [Because we want to hide the cut-out part]. I change the color of the brush stroke to maroon by clicking ‘COLOR > COLORIZE’. Sharpen them if needed.





4) Add the text. For me, I use white color for the title, and then duplicate it and fill it with dark purple. I overlap the text and yeah… it become this way.



5) The border is going to be a little special. Now, drag the colorful texture into the canvas. Resize it and sharpen it. Rightclick and then click ‘Alpha To Selection.’. Click ‘SELECT > SHRINK’. Set the shrink selection to ‘15’ and click OKAY. And then click ‘EDIT > CUT’. You should get exactly like what shown in these pictures below.






6) I add a speech bubble for the credit. Download the speech bubble here. ‘CTRL + S’ or ‘CTRL + E’ to save it. And ta-dahhhhh, you’re done!
